It is an entry-level course which provides hands-on training in collecting blood and other specimens like swabs, urine, sputum, ECGs, for diagnostic testing in hospitals, pathology labs, and clinics. Phlebotomist Course Duration

Training Delivery and Assessment

All you will need is a computer and an internet connection to access the learning modules.
Entry Requirements
Being an entry-level certification, anyone can enrol for this phlebotomy course. But there are a few eligibility requirements.
All prospective learners must:
- Have completed at least Year 12 or equivalent.
- Be 18 years of age or over
- Have a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) number
- Have a valid and current email address and phone number
- Have a valid Photo ID
- provide Proof of Residency (Birth Certificate/Passport/Medicare Card or Citizenship Certificate)
- Have an emergency contact
Beyond this, to enrol for certificate III in Pathology Collection in Newcastle you must have a good hold over written and verbal English and maths (known as language, literacy and numeracy ‘LLN’). Before you enrol for the course you must undertake the LLN assessment.

Further Study Pathways
